I took his summaries of these rankings and focused just on universities with majors in AI. Based on constantly changing curriculum in this area, this list needs to be updated every 6-12 months.
- Bellevue College’s Institute for Business & Information Technology (iBIT) offers an associate of applied science (AAS) degree program in robotics and artificial intelligence. It’s the first program of its kind at the community college-level in Washington state.
- Carnegie Mellon University became the first to offer a major in AI in 2018. Not only does this program teach how to convert data into actionable decisions, but it also has a strong emphasis on the ethics and philosophy of AI.
- Ferris State University has an Artificial Intelligence degree program focusing on cybersecurity, internet of things, machine learning, and natural language processing, including the use of voice and biometric data.
- Indiana University Online offers a B.A. in Artificial Intelligence that focus on machine learning, bot development, robotic process automation, and cognitive computing.
- John Brown University is the only Christian university in the U.S. to offer a major in AI. JBU’s AI major focuses on problem solving using AI, ML, NLP, computer vision with power of big data and cloud computing.
- MIT may boast one of the strongest undergraduate majors in AI. The school offers a B.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Decision Making, melding interdisciplinary research across electrical engineering, computer science, statistics, operations research and brain and cognitive sciences.
- Purdue University has an AI major where students learn to for build and understand artificial intelligence systems which reason about data, correct themselves, and make decisions. Students explore the link between cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and AI, and the ethics of AI, which are integral to a holistic understanding of AI.
- University of Advancing Technology has an undergraduate BS degree in artificial intelligence, robotics, and embedded systems or human-computer interaction. The AI degree program curriculum covers the fundamentals of general and applied artificial intelligence.
- University of Pennsylvania touted the first B.S.E. in artificial intelligence of all the Ivy Leagues earlier this year.
- University of Southern California recently unveiled its B.S. in Artificial Intelligence for Business, which plans to “combine the entrepreneurial concepts of business with the technical operations of AI.”
