College Mascots that are Mythical Creatures

  1. Webster Gorlocks – the paws of a cheetah, the horns of a buffalo, and the face of a Saint Bernard dog
  2. Pacific Boxers – a mythical Chinese creature that is part lion, unicorn, and deer
  3. PennWest California Vulcans – Roman god of fire
  4. Drexel Dragons – called Mario the Magnificient
  5. Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans – Roman god of fire
  6. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors – this was their symbol until 2000 when they changed to a non-living symbol
  7. St. Louis Billikens – The mascot is a creature with the head of a gnome, the ears of a cat, and the body of a bear.
  8. Bradley Braves (Gargoyle) – Gargoyles have been on Bradley’s campus from the school’s beginning as part of the architecture of the school’s signature building.  Kaboom! is modeled after The Thinker, a gargoyle which sits atop the Alumni Center.
