HEd History – Why There Are So Many Memorial Stadiums

Hundreds of universities were given money after WWI and WWII to build new football stadiums to honor fallen alumni from these wars. I did a quick Google search of university stadiums with Memorial in their name and came up with the list of 40 below (who did I miss?). There were many more which have closed (a few of those are listed below) and thousands more with Memorial in the name of high school football stadiums.
