“Highlights” from My First Diary which I received when I turned 10 years old (1980)
I wrote in it for 6 months. (Any writing in parenthesis is me in 2022)
1/14/80 Today I got in trouble for gym. I didn’t use the horse (pommel) right. We watched, “It’s Your First Kiss Charlie Brown” (that evening)
1/15/80 It was a boring day. I played Light Bright.
1/16/80 Dad and me finished my model (airplane). We watched Real People (TV show).
1/18/80 It was Will’s (Layton) surprise birthday party. Keith (Demko) got sick and coke came out his nose.
1/19/80 I went to Craft Class and we did string art. We went and split wood. I fell in the mud. We almost got a dachshund today.
1/20/80 We went to church and had breakfast at the Tony Tank Inn. We fixed the backyard up for our dog and a house made out of a cardboard box. We watched the Super Bowl (Steelers defeated Rams) and a show about a boy and his dog. (Lassie)
1/23/80 Today I quite (quit) violin. I had choir and got in trouble.
1/24/80 I went swimming tonight. I peed in the pool. I missed 3-2-1 Contact. I got an E in music (An “E” grade was equivalent to today’s “F”, and is still used at U. of Arizona).
1/26/80 We went to an Indian festival. We went to Arby’s for dinner.
1/27/80 We played with (our friends’) dog. He bit me.
1/28/80 I cut myself with my pocketknife. We watched 3-2-1 Contact and we watched Fonzie when Mork came. (Happy Days episode that led to Mork & Mindy 8 months later)
1/29/80 My friend was at karetee.
1/30/80 We got my electronics kit. We had choir and watched a man fix part of the organ. (In 1980, during the tenure of Taylor Harvey (Director of Music, 1975-2003), repair to the organ was needed due to the furnace exploding through the organ blower, rendering it unusable for about six months.
2/2/80 I played with my paper dolls and my (stuffed) dogs. We took Laura to balay then went to City Hall Museum. Uncle Bob cut my hair and Matt and Andy came over for dinner. (Bob’s sons).
2/3/80 Today I sang in the choir (it was a Sunday). I watched two shows called Living It Up and About and Costello. We had dinner in the addition (my father was building a large room on the back of the house). I got real red (sunburned) and had a headache.
2/4/80 We went to P.T.A. (erased on the bottom of every diary page of my diary are the words “I LOVE LESLIE”)
2/5/80 We learned how to do averages in math. In art we learned how to make faces in hearts. In Cub Scouts we made place mats. Leslie was back (in school). I got my new book, Paddington Takes the Air.
2/6/80 We watched a assembly because it’s dental health week. (expanded to a month in 1981)
2/7/80 We worked on my rock tumbler and rocks. Maryland play another team. (beat #11 North Carolina 80-79.) Marylands in fith place (they were ranked 7th in the nation on this date. Albert King and Buck Williams were future NBA players on the team. Maryland finished the season ranked #1 in ACC and #8 nationally).
2/8/80 Today we had gym. I was the only one who could do the scissors on the horse. We went to a auction (Sharptown Fire Department) and I got a clothes hamper for $1.00. I am checking the things I want from a book called Free Stuff for Kids. It’s 9:46. (p.m.)
2/9/80 Dad brought a load of wood and we onloaded it. It started snowing. We had a new babysitter named Nancy.
2/10/80 We played are records. We walked to church and got donutts. We played in the snow a lot. We played Safari Sets. We watched Disney (Donald’s Valentine’s Day Salute).
2/11/80 I got a new library book. I had to wash the dishes. We to U.M.E.S. (my father worked at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD). We got ice-cream at Baskin Robins.
2/12/80 I went to brownies (for Laura) and had food from different countrys. We also had fish eggs at brownies.
2/13/80 We had buretoes for dinner. I did my Valentines.
2/14/80 I road my bike around and got stuck in the snow.
2/15/80 Mom-mom and Pop-pop (my father’s parents) came and we went to Arby’s. We also went to an auction and bought real old books and Mom-mom got glass pots.
2/16/80 We played dollhouses. We went to Uncle Bob’s and got wood. We got new magic markers. Mommy read us a book.
2/17/80 We watched escape to witch mountain. We watched part of the olimpics (From Lake Placid, N.Y.).
2/18/80 Today it was Washington’s Birthday so we had no school.
2/19/80 I went to Philips (Basehart) and we sledded on pinchats (pinechats) and played football. I got sent to bed early.
2/20/80 I had choir and I didn’t get in trouble. We had Cub Scouts and I got my Bear Badge.
2/22/80 I went to Philips and we are making a giant kite. We watched Disney, Olompics (Miracle on Ice) and Pink Panther (The Pink Panther In The Olym-pinks). Thank god its Friday!
2/23/80 I signed up for little league. I went to Philip’s and we worked on or hang glider. Dad came back (from D.C. trip and gave me a racing car). (erased as on every page are the words, I LOVE LESLIE)
2/24/80 Today me and dad rode to church on our bikes. I played with my racing car. Me, Leslie (Simpson), Diana (Shingler), and Laura (my sister) rollerskated. We watched the Apple Dumpling Gang.
2/25/80 Today we had gym. I got in trouble. Dad and me wrestled. Me and Laura went to the library and got some books.
2/26/80 We had great books and library. I got a book on Green Stories. Mark (Hancock) and Julie (Rosenthal) have the chickenpox. We went Cub Scouts. I got in trouble.
2/27/80 Our car broke down and the car’s still there.
2/28/80 Today I finished my reading exibit of chameleons. Laura went to gymnastics. Me and Leslie played in the snow and played dollhouse. Me and mom read her diaries and put on her wigs.
2/29/80 Daddy went to play bridge. We watched Benji. It is now 10:00 (p.m.)
3/1/80 Shaun (Doyle, my cousin), Me, and Dad and Loyd (Dad’s brother) (went to) Bob’s and got wood. We did it again. Then we went to Bob’s again and left the trucks there and came back. Mommy’s on a bus and it snowed so far ¾ of a foot.
3/2/80 It snowed 1 foot and a ½. We took the sled to the drugstores and got milk and gum. I went to Philips and played in the creek with their dog. We watched Disney. (the Monkey’s Uncle) Leslie, Katie, Laura and me wrote half a play.
3/3/80 We had no school. We played with my safari sets. Me and Philip knocked down icycles. I played in the slush. Dad worked on the addition (to our house).
3/4/80 The Cub Scouts went to the City Hall Museum. We had a snow fight. I got gloves and mittens. We got already to go skiing. Mom went to a meating.
3/5/80 We we went skiing. It took 5 hours to get there and 5 hours back. I took two lessons. We stopped at Gino’s on the way back. On the way lots of people sung.
3/6/80 Today we had library. I got little rascal. My science project is going to be on seeds. I went to the dentist at 3:25. Dad got the red car (1964 Triumph Spitfire) fixed and I got a ride. I had a new kind of cereal.
3/7/80 The Simpsons went with us to the auction (in Sharptown). Dad bought a hose and halloween costumes. Leslie spent the night. We watched the Wizard of Oz. I got a lock. It’s 10:15 (p.m.)
3/8/80 We got ready to go to Grandmoms. We went to Granddads. Ray (my uncle by marriage to my father’s sister, Joyce) came by and spent the night at Granddad’s.
3/9/80 Me and Laura played with Grandmom’s toys. We went to the farm (where my grandfather worked) and fed the cows. The mother cow had a baby. We went to Uncle Teeters (Mom’s brother). Granddad gave M/D (mom and dad) ox yolk, table, and coat hanger. I took a shower and watched Disney (The Kids Who Knew Too Much).
3/10/80 Me, Dad, and Laura went to the schoolyard and played golf and swung on the swings. We went to the library and got some books. Dad went to a meating.
3/11/80 We went to olan mills and looked at my pictures (school). I played with G.W. (Oakley).
3/12/80 Me and Dad worked on my clouds project. Dad went and got icecream and cotton balls. I got my shot (allergy). I finished James and the Giant Peach.
3/15/80 Today Norman (Conway, School Principal), George (Demko), Mr Basehart, Dad, Sarah (Basehart), Keith (Demko), Philip (Basehart), Stew (Wennersten) and me worked on the baseball net (the men were repairing a baseball back stop so the school would have two baseball/softball fields). We split wood. We pulled out the bed and watched Mupets.
3/16/80 Today we went to church and saw a preview of Jesus. Mom-mom and Pop-pop came over with their friends and went to the better living thing. (Better Living Expo – still going in 2020). We played dodgeball with Carol and Paul. We met a kid visiting. We had pizza for dinner.
3/17/80 Today we had gym. I was one of the best. I watched my plants. We watched Happy Days. We read a book. I felt sick and I still feel sick.
3/18/80 Today we had T.A.D (gifted program). Some people came and watched us. I played basketball at Philips. We are going to the zoo tomorrow (Salisbury Zoo). Mommy went to yoga. I wore Mommys pajamas.
3/19/80 We went to the zoo in school. We’re doing basketball in gym.
3/20/80 Today we had our health party. Everybody liked my banana chips. We did a poster on pollution in art. I sent Leslie a love letter. Laura got a new diary.
3/21/80 Today we had gym and Will and me were the best.
3/22/80 Today we went to Little League. I wrestled John. We watched BJ and the Bear.
3/23/80 Me and Dad worked on are backboard for our Science Project. Leslie, Katie, Laura, G.W., Allison and Me played tag. We watched Disney (The Shaggy D.A.). I got wind burn. I took a bath.
3/24/80 I went fishing for minnows. Me and Laura rode in the spitfire (Triumph) to the library.
3/25/80 Today we had gym. We couldn’t play in the gym because they were voting so we played checkers in another room. We picked out the dachshund we wanted and signed up for it.
3/26/80 Today we went to the nurse because I hurt my foot. Mark and Will showed us a movie they made. We named our dog Mandy.
3/27/80 I got some foreing coins and truckers book. I covered some books (with the brown paper bags). Mommy stayed at Aunt Joices.
3/28/80 Dad worked on the fence (baseball backstop) with Mr. Conway.
3/29/80 Today Daddy went to Rays and helped them move. I played with my chineese yo-yo. I got some new shoes. We made some things for the dog. We watched a new show (The Tim Conway Show). Me and Mom laughed.
3/30/80 We went to church and I sang in the choir. We and got our dog. Her name is Mindy. We finished my Science Project. We ate dinner in the den and watched Disney. Mindy watched it with us.
3/31/80 We went to P.T.A. and showed my Science Project. I think it is the best.
4/1/80 Today we had library. Miss Hill cussed at me. We had Cub Scouts and shot arrows and played basketball. Leslie came over and we made musical instruments.
4/2/80 Today we had gym. In gym, the whole class got in trouble. A lady from Nasa (NASA) came and showed us some things. I went to play baseball. I went from 5:00 to 9:00. Dad had a bridge party. Laura and Mom went somewhere.
4/3/80 I got my book order. I got school supplies. I got some candy from my teacher because its near Easter.
4/4/80 Today we died Easter Eggs. We went to see the movie Jesus. Phil was there. Phil came over. We played outside. I almost passed out because I hurt myself. Me, Keith, and Philip are going fishing tomorrow.
4/5/80 Today Me, Phil, Keith and Mr. Basehart and Dad went fishing at the Wicomico River.
4/6/80 Today we went to sunday school. We put our name in a balloon and sent them up. Matt came over. Me and Matt went fishing. We caught a toad. We watched Disney (Pluto’s Day). I built my Toady a cage. Happy Easter!
4/7/80 Phil and I saw a venonomus snake in the creek. Dan cave me a baby snake. He got loose, so did the toad we cleaned the hermit crabs cage. We went to look for another snake. I got a hair cut. I took a bath.
4/8/80 I beat my dad in two pigs and mom in one.
4/9/80 Today we had art. We colored a piece of paper. We had choir. I got in troble. We went to the Science Fair. I won second place! I helped Mr. Jernigan. I am very, very tried. (tired)
4/10/80 I watched a baseball game. The Oriles beet the White Sox 5 to 3. (it was Opening Day and Jim Palmer pitched). I was tired.
4/11/80 Today we had library. I got a book called All the Money In the World. We got are report cards. I got three b’s and the rest A’s and S’s.
4/12/80 We went to Uncle Bobs and helped him plant seeds and fix his barn. Andy came back with us and a load of wood. Uncle Bob brought Matt over and we played. We watched John Travolta.
4/13/80 Today we didn’t go to church but we talked about church. We rode and got some things for the volleyball game in the back yard. We had lots of fun. We watched Disney (Disney’s Oscar Winners)
4/14/80 Me, Dad, and Laura went to the pizza hut. And got donutts and groceries. Mom was at work!
4/15/80 Today we had a science test. I got all right. We had a math quiz. I got all wrong. I have a very bad cold. We painted my pinewood derby car all black. Mom gave me some math problems.
4/16/80 I had T.A.D. I got in trouble. We had choir. I didn’t get in trouble. We went to the pine wood derby. Joe (Corcoran) beat me.
4/17/80 Mom went to watching week with Laura. Dad was at work so I went to Philips but he wasn’t home and went to Leslies and played there. Me, Mom, and Laura lay down in the same bed to rest.
4/18/80 The dog got his new house. I went to baseball practice. I am on the Phillies.
4/19/80 I won a poster at the library because I stacked books 2 ½ feet high.
4/20/80 We walked to Sunday School. We cut grass. I got in trouble. We went to a show called Gypsey. We went to the La-Roma for dinner. I messed around with the rest of the family.
4/21/80 Mom wasn’t here when I got home (from school). I played with the puppy. I started making a tererium. We went to cut the grass at the other house. I watered the flowers.
4/22/80 We had Cub Scouts after school. We saw who could collect the most trash. I won! Me, Leslie, and Katie played softball.
4/23/80 Today we went to Baltimore. I missed school. We went to the World Trade Center. We also went to the Science Center. On the way home we went to Grandmoms. We went to the plantitareum. I had alot of fun.
4/24/80 I got some cactuses. It’s storming. Dad was at a meating all day.
4/25/80 Laura went to Melissa’s and ate pizza, and went skating, and is going to spend the night. Me, Mom, and Dad had alot of fun.
4/27/80 Today Daddy and I walked to church. We went to grandmoms and took the dog. Me and Greg (Cissel, my cousin) went to Medfield. (farm in Queen Anne’s County where Granddad worked). It started hailing there. We watched Disney there (The Secret of Lost Valley) and wrote a letter in French to Daddy because he in Washington. (I don’t understand this last part.)
4/28/80 Today we had gym. I was the best in standing broad jump. Laura, Dad, and I went to chop wood at somones house. We made a fishing line.
4/29/80 We had Cub Scouts. We walked on stilts, kicked soccer ball, threw softball, and play hot potatoe. Katie, Leslie, Laura and me played softball and baseball with my father.
4/30/80 Today we had gym. I won two races out of three race. I lost the 50 yard dash but won the 200 and 600 yard dash. Me and Dad watched a baseball game Oriles 6 Yankees 2 (final score was 7-4).
5/1/80 I worked on my baseball cards. I read my T.A.D. project to Dad. I read my T.A.D. project to Laura and Mommy but they made me laugh.
5/3/80 Laura and I got to go to the woods. I fell in the mud and got soaked. Dad, Laura, and me went riding in the red car (Triumph Spitfire 1964). Mom was at Wilimburge.
5/4/80 Today we went for bike ride. We played in the sprinklers. We watched Disney.
5/5/80 Laura, Dad, and I went for a ride on our bikes. We watched Charlie Brown.
5/6/80 Today we had gym. Our team won 11 to zip and we only had two outs. I watched Leslie’s softball team practice. Dad had some people over to play bridge.
5/8/80 Today all the third and fourth grade went to Washington. We we toured the Capital and the library of congress. We went to the zoo and ate there and I got some soveineers. We had to leave at 6:45 in the morning. I am tired.
5/9/80 I was tired this morning. We saw two filmstrips. Me, Dad, Kevin (Keenan), Stew (Wennersten) played basketball. Me and Stew won 14-6. I went to baseball. I got 4 strikeouts and 1 hit. Katie came and spent the night. We put the bed down and watched King Kong with popcorn.
5/10/80 We had baseball. I almost killed a boy (swung bat too close to clubhouse when boy was coming out)
5/11/80 It’s Mother’s Day. We went out to breakfast. I played with my animals. Mom, Dad went to Laura’s recital. We had the Doyle volleyball game. Matt and me played basketball and frisbee.
5/12/80 Today we had gym. I kicked the soccerball 130 feet in a width of 15 feet. We played in rollerskates.
5/13/80 I went to the dentist. I put plastic in my tooth. We went and cut wood. I crushed my fingernail.
5/15/80 Today we showed our Robin Hood in the school. (no idea what that means) Philip and I played with the parachutes. We had T.V. dinners. We showed Robin Hood for the second time tonight. Laura started writing in her diary.
5/16/80 Today we had field day. I won a first in the six hundred. I won a second in the two hundred. Our group won first in the relay. Dad came and watched us. We helped a man. We had baseball practice. I have sunburn.
5/17/80 Today we had cub scout field day. I won 2 firsts and a second. I got sunburn.
5/18/80 Today we played paper dolls. Our choir sung for the last time. Dad went to graduation. (at the college where he worked – U. of Maryland – Eastern Shore). We went to a party. We played kickball and soccer there. There was a crazy kid there.
5/19/80 Today I had to go to the nurse a (all) afternoon because I couldn’t breath. I missed gym. We got out the fan. Dad took us in the red car to see movies. I took a cane. We saw movies of monsters at the library.
5/20/80 I had to go to the doctor. I got baseball socks. I played rocketship. Mom and dad jogged.
5/21/80 We put up our new tent.
5/22/80 This diary started falling apart.
5/23/80 We got ready to go camping. We went on the nature hike there. We roasted marshmallows.
5/24/80 We flooded the camp site because the water wouldn’t turn off. We went to the old iron furnace. (in Nassawango) We went to the pool. We went and picked strawberries and peas. We caught a giant frog at campus and 5 toads at the strawberry patch.
5/25/80 We went to Sunday School, did some work for dad, and went to the pool. We watched The Kid From Left Field and The Bad News Bears.
5/26/80 In library we saw a filmstrip. Me and Dad played baseball at the school. We have 7 more days of school.
5/27/80 Dad went and picked strawberries. I played with Mindy. (our dog)
5/29/80 We all stayed up and finished reading The Family Under the Bridge.
5/30/80 We road to the park on our bikes. We put the floorboads on the addition. We went to the pool on our bikes. We read a book.
5/31/80 Today we went to the park with our craft class. We through the zoo there. We went to baseball practice. I got a real big cut in my knee. Me and Laura babysitted ourselves from 5:45-8:30. We pulled out the bed and watched TV.
6/1/80 Matt’s family went to the pool with us and ate dinner with us.
6/2/80 Today we had a filmstrip called “no no pinnoceeo”. (say no to drugs) We had a baseball game against the Athelatics. We are in second place.
6/3/80 Today we had gym. I did 52 pushups in a minute. We had a TORNADOE. Hail as big as golf balls. Dad comeing home in the red car (Triumph Spitfire, 1964) with a TORNADOE. (there is no record of a tornado on this date in Salisbury)
6/4/80 We went to Olan Mills and got our picture taken with the dog. We cut grass at the other house. We got ice-cream at Baskin Robins. I fixed this diary.
6/5/80 Laura got a frog.
6/6/80 Me and Laura went with Dad to school (where he worked – U. of Maryland, Eastern Shore). We bought some ice-cream there. We picked peas at Uncle Bob’s. We ate lunch at Hardees. We went to the arts festival and saw Bill Kerns (our neighbor) in a play.
6/8/80 I played with the dog for a long time. We went to a dog show. We went to the pool and played tennis there. We watched Disney.
6/9/80 Today we had swimteam. Our coach is a girl. We have a carpool with the Simpsons. I got a new tennis racket and holder (Slazenger). We went and played tennis. We got ready to go camping.
6/10/80 Today we had swim team. We went to the pool at our campsite. We brought our camper.
6/11/80 Today we went to the ocean and went on a march walk. I got a new shirt. We got two ducks (decoys) on the way back from dinner. I wrote a letter to Granddad.
6/12/80 Today we went to the beach. We got sandcrabs. I caught fiddler crabs. We got things that you paint.
6/13/80 Today we went fishing. I didn’t catch anything for the first hour. On Laura’s first try she caught a fish. I caught a little fish later.
6/14/80 Today we went to a yardsale. We went to a clothing store with the Simpsons. The Simpsons took us to the pool. The Simpsons spent the night. We watched Little Women.
6/15/80 We went to a Father’s Day Party at Mom-Moms. Carol’s (our cousin, daughter of Uncle Bob) going to spend the night.
6/16/80 Today we had swimteam. I played pom-pom pullaway. I got a part hat (I would guess this was a visor), bat, glove, ball holder for my half birthday. Laura got new roller skates (for her birthday). I cut the lawn. I got (bought) Laura’s birthday presents (sunglasses, barretts). Daddy left to play golf.
6/17/80 Today we had Day Camp. We made puppets and Indian vests and colorwheels. We went on a trail. We had Laura’s birthday party. Meg, Kathy, Mellissa, Julie, Allison (Oakley), Laura and I went to skateland. Daddy came home from golf.
6/18/80 This morning we all rollerskated. I went to day camp. They put me in Weblose (between Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts). We made fires. We played softball. We won 19-9. We listened to a fireman. We went on a nature walk. We got a new sofa and changed it around. We watched softball and read a book.
6/19/80 Today we had Day Camp. We cooked apples and a man came and talked to us about trees. Another man came and talked about water. We had a baseball game. We lost 22-2. We’re tied second place out of six.
6/20/80 Today we had the last day of Day Camp. We cooked hamburgers and potatoes over the fire. A man came and talked about the zoo. We got shirts and a badge. Allison, G.W., Laura and Me rode bikes. We watched Boomer (with Michael J Fox).
6/21/80 Today we played barbie dolls. We had baseball practice. Grand Mom and Grand Dad came. We tried to go to the Red Roost but we ended up going to Tony Tank Inn. It’s 9:45.
6/22/80 Today we had blueberry pancakes since Grandmom and Grandad are here. We went to Uncle Loyd’s. We watched Disney (Donovan’s Kid with Mickey Rooney). We played Barbies with animals.
6/23/80 Today Laura went to Browni Day Camp. We went to swim team. I cut grass. We went to the play ground. We went to the library. We started reading a new book.
6/24/80 Today we had swimteam. No one was home when I got home. I dropped the Damson Plum (type of plant/tree). I finished Harriet the Spy. Laura went to spend the night at Aunt Joyces. We watched the Empire Strikes Back (in the movie theatre – it came out on May 21st).
6/25/80 Today we went to swimteam. We had time trials. We swam in the pool in the back yard (not sure what this meant since we did not have a pool). We watched Charletts Webb.
6/26/80 Today we didn’t have swim team because it was rainen. Me and Leslie played the Up with People record. Me and Dad went to some stores. We went to the library. We took Leslie to the pool. We watched a movie called Manimals (I cannot find online). We saw the second part of Charlletts Web.
6/27/80 We went to the carnival with Uncle Ray, Aunt Joyce, Shawn, Leah (cousin, Shaun’s sister), Amy (second cousin?), Laura and me. We had fun.
6/28/80 I got packed to go to Mom-Moms Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop picked me up. Matt came. Me and Matt played baseball. This morning Daddy bought a T.V. electronics game. Me and Matt went out to dinner and spent the night with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop.
6/29/80 Today we went to Mom-Mom’s church. They got new peaws. Leslie and Katie came over. We watched Disney.
6/30/80 Today we had swimteam. We learned how to do the butterfly. Mom and I went to the vacume place and Giant (grocery store). Daddy took us to the pool. We rode our bikes to get baseball cards. We went to the playground and played and had races.
7/1/80 Today we had swim team. We had time trials. I got a 26 (second) in breaststroke and a 20 (seconds) in butterfly (25 meters). I stayed by myself. I had tennis lessons. Leslie Katie and us played dollbabies and jewelry. We caught lightning bugs.
7/2/80 Laura had a fever. The dog got a shot. I spilled paint remover on the wall. I played with my baseball cards. We played with Eva and gave her our fire truck.
7/3/80 We had tennis. We played crazy tennis. We had a practice swim meet. They split our team into two groups. We went to Arbys.
7/4/80 Today we went to the pool. They had a fourth of July party. I play safari. We went to a baseball game against the Atheletics. They won 12-3. We saw fireworks. We sat at the Holly Center.
7/5/80 We went to yardsales. We bought patches, hand muscle thing (a version of which I still use today!), and a fishing rod. We played dollhouse. We wathed the little prince. I learned how to do exercises. We got to sleep at 10:45 p.m.
7/6/80 Today we got ready for the Doyle reuneiun. At Doyle reunion every body was there except Uncle Floyd. We played volley ball and baseball. I ate something I was alergict to and almost threw up. I couldn’t get to sleep. But I got to sleep at 11:00.
7/7/80 Today we had swimteam. We babysetted ourselves. We went to the meet. It was against Greenhille and Ocean Pines. First came us then Ocean Pines then Greenhill. I won three firsts and one fourth.
7/8/80 We babysitted ourselves until twelve. We had tennis
7/10/80 Today we had swimteam. We made a whirlpool. We babysitted ourselves. Leslie and Katie came over. I had tennis. We had a match I won 6-0. We had a meet (swim) with Seaford. We lost 404-150. We went out too dinner.
